TAIPEI – The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), Bureau of Foreign Trade, under
the initiative of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE)
Project Office, recently hosted the 2009 MEET Taiwan Awards Ceremony in Taipei.
Recognition was given to those who best represented the vibrant characteristics
of Taiwan to international visitors and whose work has contributed to lifting Taiwan’s
reputation in the global MICE industry. K&A International Co. was singled out
as the recipient of this year’s Award of Excellence for its outstanding performance
in professional planning and delivery of international conferences.
According to Kitty Wong, K&A President, Destination Management and Association
Management will be the company’s major focus in devising its future development
plans. It is Kitty’s vision for K&A’s work in those areas to set a benchmark
for the MICE industry in Taiwan.
The MOEA established the annual MEET Taiwan Awards program in 2005 with an aim to
enhance Taiwan’s competitiveness in the global MICE industry and reward those companies
and organizations who have displayed service excellence in the industry. For this
year, BOFT’s four-year Taiwan MICE Advancement Program specially commissioned the
MOEA MICE Project Office to host the 2009 MEET Taiwan Awards Ceremony, in order
to reward domestic event planners for their long-term efforts in developing the
industry in Taiwan.
K&A has been building its name in the MICE industry since its establishment
in 1995. Under Kitty Wong’s strong leadership, K&A has earned the trust of both
foreign and domestic partners for its unfailing professional delivery of value-added
service. K & A team has demonstrated a strong sense of duty and responsibility,
whilst also maintaining an honest and open communication with fellow event organizers.
At all times, it never loses sight of its goal of providing cost-effective and time-effective
planning. The good reputation built by K & A over the years will no doubt further
sharpen its professional capabilities and image, positioning it at a vantage point
to embrace ever more future challenges of the industry.
K&A’s unique ability to service all fields of associations, institutes and industries
with the same level of top-notch professionalism has enabled the company to win
contracts for more than 100 international meetings and exhibitions during its 14
years of operation. The cumulative experience and expertise gained over the years
have been hugely conducive to maintaining the company’s excellence of service year
by year.
Some of the major international events that K&A oversaw in 2008 included the
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Taipei Conference, Skal
International 69th Congress, Alzheimer’s Disease International, 11th Asia-Pacific
Regional Conference, and the 17th annual Wireless & Optical Communications Conference
(WOCC). Among this year’s clients, K&A represented the University of Southern
California (USC) Global Conference, the Association of the Electricity Supply Industry
of the East Asia and the Western Pacific (AESIEAP) CEO Conference, the 7th Conference
of the Pacific Rim Society for Fertility and Sterility (PRSFS) and the 17th Asian
Congress of Surgery, proving K&A a worthy recipient of this year’s award.
