Since its establishment, the Formosa Urogynecology Association (FUGA) has hosted the Women’s Urology Continuing Education annually, specifically designed for residents preparing for the obstetrics and gynecology specialist exams. The seminar focuses on advancing knowledge in women’s urology, covering essential theoretical and clinical skills in three key areas:
- Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS)
- Urinary Incontinence (UI)
- Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP)
The program starts with foundational principles, such as mechanics and pathophysiology, and systematically introduces the latest terminology to ensure participants gain a professional and standardized communication framework in women’s urology.
Urodynamic studies (UDS) and cystoscopy are core skills for urogynecologist training. Mastering these techniques, along with the ability to interpret results accurately, is essential for delivering optimal patient care. The seminar emphasizes these aspects as a key component of the curriculum.
To reinforce learning, the course incorporates case-based discussions, presenting comprehensive approaches to conservative treatments, medications, and surgical interventions. This detailed exploration enables participants to engage in practical, evidence-based decision-making.
The seminar concludes with a hands-on workshop, providing attendees with the opportunity to immediately apply their skills in a practical setting.
This seminar is a vital resource for medical professionals seeking to enhance their expertise and deliver high-quality care in the field of women’s urology.
