To provide the platform for the occupational therapists in Asia Pacific region to share the experiences and exchange the innovative academic foundings, the 1st Asia-Pacific Occupational Therapy Symposium was taken place from October 20th to 22nd, 2017, in Chang Gung University, Taoyuan Taiwan.

During the Symposium, there were 854 delegates, speakers, presenters in participation from 19 countries over the world. More than 400 oral/poster abstracts have been presented, and 24 symposia were discussed within this 3-day Symposium. 

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Chen, Chien-Jen, the vice president of R.O.C. delivered his speech toward the development of hospital system and long-term care in Taiwan.
