The Meet Taiwan Int’l Press Conference
The global industry and markets are undergoing structural change. The service sector is gaining increasing growth potential worldwide, while the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry can be a driver of economic growth and export trade. To integrate resources for promoting the future development of Taiwan’s MICE industry, the Bureau of Foreign Trade (“BOFT”) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs launched a four-year “Taiwan MICE Advancement Program” in 2009 with the objective of effectively improving the overall trade show and exhibition environment. In the continuing efforts to promote the MICE industry as the Taiwan MICE Advancement Program draws to an end this year, BOFT plans to debut the“Taiwan's MICE Industry Pilot Program” (2013 ~ 2016) in the hope to steer Taiwan’s MICE industry onto global stage under avid government support.
