Welcome Message
Dear colleagues and friends,
We would like to invite you to join us for the upcoming 2nd Asia Pacific AKI CRRT Congress 2018 in Taipei.
To improve the care quality and prognosis of acute kidney injury (AKI) in the Asia-Pacific region, the Asia Pacific AKI CRRT Congress has been launched since 2017. It is a great honor for us to host the 2nd Asia Pacific AKI CRRT Congress, and, by historic collaboration of 11 societies related to the treatment of AKI in Taiwan, we aim to broadcast up-to-date knowledge of AKI treatment and provide a platform for regional experience exchange.
In 2014, the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) proposed a visionary 0by25 project, aiming to eliminate avoidable deaths due to AKI by 2025. This project involved 72 countries from 6 continents, and, by the efforts of Taiwan Consortium for Acute Kidney Injury and Renal Diseases, more than one in twenty of total cases were contributed by Taiwan.
In addition to plenary lectures, interactive workshops, panel discussions and poster sessions in the field of critical care nephrology, AKI, and CRRT, the 2nd Asia Pacific AKI CRRT Congress will highlight some special issues regarding the impact from our environment, including:
- Heat: AKI caused by heat stroke
- Earthquake: AKI due to rhabdomyolysis and crush injury
- Explosion: AKI in burn patients
- Typhoon: leptospirosis-associated AKI
Many distinguished experts have joined the faculty and will share with us their knowledge and experience. We look forward to seeing you in our beautiful and energetic city - Taipei.
Sincerely Yours,
-
